4 Swiss medals in Austria

The 2021 Austrian Open took place at the last september weekend. 5 Swiss players made their way to Graz and came home with 4 medals, with three of them earned in the doubles categories.

Friday was as usual doubles day and it started out with the Men's B doubles, where Graham King was competing with his Slovenian partner Saso Poljansek. After winning their opening match they unfortunately fell short in the quarter finals.

After a successful Swiss Open, Yannic Andrey decided to team up again with Emanuel Schöpf for the Men's A doubles. Thanks to a strong display they managed to reach their second final in a row, but again had to settle with a silver medal.

Nicolas Lenggenhager teamed up with his RC Genève teammate Myriam Enmer for the Mixed A doubles. Following a loss in their semi-final the pair managed to recover and win a very hard fought bronze medal match.

With Dara and Beat Ladner there was as well a Swiss team competing in the Mixed B doubles, like Yannic Andrey before they had to settle with a silver medal after losing out in the final.

The singles categories weren’t as successful for the Swiss players with only Dara Ladner being able to reach a spot on the podium with yet another silver medal in the Women’s B.

The other four players showed a lot of effort with playing some great matches, but unfortunately just couldn’t manage to get a spot on the Podium.
