Racketlon World Championships 2025

Quarterfinal for Lenggenhager – 2x Gold and 1x Bronze for Switzerland

Last week, the Racketlon Singles and Team World Championships took place in Rotterdam. Swiss Racketlon was represented by a delegation of 16 athletes – with great success.

Men’s Elite:
Nicolas Lenggenhager, currently world no. 7, won both his round of 32 and round of 16 matches before tennis and only had to bow out in the quarterfinals against world no. 1 and eventual world champion Leon Griffiths.

Men 70+:
After being eliminated in the group stage last year, Graham King secured the group win this time and went on to win the final against Julian Clapp (GBR) – who had beaten him in the 2022 65+ final. King had already been world champion in the 65+ category in Leipzig in 2019.

Men U18:
Andreas Kotala won the bronze medal in the U18 category in Rotterdam. Last year, as a favourite in the U16 category, he had to withdraw due to appendicitis. This year, he delivered a strong performance and fought his way onto the podium.

Team World Championships:
Both Swiss teams had to gain some tough experience at the Team World Championships. Neither team managed to secure a win and returned home without a victory. Nevertheless, the atmosphere among the Swiss delegation – and also among the international athletes – was excellent.
